False alarm from all devices on the loop without any reason

Post by mikbz »

Hi All!
Today I receive one duct SIGA-PS in trouble due to rain and open/short of the loop.
Later I receive all smoke detectors in alarm with out any visible reason.
after that I found that the mentioned before duct detector swim in the water.

If any one have before same behavior of unreasonable alarms or may be know what can be cause for this, Please let me know!
Thx.

In the past I have had a similar issue. Ie- multiple Alarms on same SSDC card at same time. Almost like the Card "Crashed". After looking into several different possibilities, I found that my SSDC card had too many devices on card. Detectors are usually not the issue. Modules are usually the problem. And thats what happened. The ssdc card had 120 modules on it. When I rewired the loop and removed a 1/3 of the devices and put it physically on another ssdc card, problem went away.

You may not have this problem. but its easy to check..

i experience same problem...in one loop all the device one by one goes into alarm..i check the status of that loop using sdu and i found that there's something wrong...all device is communicating but there's no serial number registered..there's no ground fault, all voltage reference is all ok,isolator bases is also installed..to make the story short..i remove the load connected to the siga-cr and it turns to be ok..then i just fixed interposing relay to handle the load..

Hi, i have the same problem, i put an isolator base in the first detector from the main loop.
with that you may prevent damage to the circuits and the panel wont be crazy.

THIS HAPPENED DUE TO GROUND FAULT AND SHORT OCCURRING IN THE LOOP SAME TIME.
u can install isolator module to prevent this.

Did you notice if the devices LED's were on?
I had a problem with SIGA-SD, one want off and 7 more followed one at a one.
It was one of the hottest days of the year, I was unable to get to the SD before it was reset to check is the LED's were ON.

I don't know because off I am wasn't present in site when this happen, but I have SIGA-DH with SIGA-PS detector.
